 At its most basic, this spread is a calendar of Fourth of July events.

The Results >
I feel my design and its use of photos that echo a theme started on the magazine's cover -- some running as boxes and others as livelier cutouts -- injects needed air, color and movement in what could have been a dull, gray calendar layout.
