The owners of Gibson Electric wanted a new ad that had more 'pop' in the newspaper but stayed true to the themes of their original.

The Results >
The clip at left shows the original ad (below) and my redesign (top). The original logo was too delicate to read well on the black background. And there is a serious disconnect between the fonts of the logo and the company information in the ad's bottom half. The redesign is crisp, bolder and has a design harmony the original lacked. Plus the redesign retains the electrical schematic element introduced in the original.
